Emily’s Story
Emily is a graduate of Pearl High School class of 2011. She is currently a student at The University of Southern Mississippi pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Theatre. She has always loved singing going through two karaoke machines as a child – a gift her parents both loved and hated at the same time. She began singing in church with her dad when she was in elementary school and hasn’t stopped since.
Emily loves many genres of music from Taylor Swift to Queen and all points in between. Her major musical influences include Celine Dion, Sara Bareilles, Birdy, Ingrid Michaelson, Taylor Swift – the list could go on and on. Being a part of the theatre community in Jackson is something she loves doing even more. It’s another outlet to perform and be creative. Being a singer in Pearl Jamz not only allows Emily to perform and sing the music she loves, but it has helped her grow as a musician and encouraged her to write and arrange music.
